It is our intention to always maintain competitive prices and still give you the great quality service you deserve. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, please bring it to our attention. We want to make you happy and keep you a satisfied customer.
Refunds and exchanges
Purchases made by credit card will be refunded to the same card. Allow 7-10 days of Berger Bros. receiving the item and authorizing the return for the transaction to appear on your statement. If the original payment was made by check or cash, a check will be issued to you within 7-10 days. There will be no cash refunds and no checks will be issued on weekends.
In-store purchases will be accepted for refund, by a manager, within 7 days of date of purchase or date of delivery, which ever is later, provided that the conditions below are met. In-store purchases will be accepted for exchange or store credit only, if returned 7-14 days after date of purchase or delivery, provided that the conditions below are met.
Internet and mail order purchases may be refunded within 14 days of delivery, or for exchanges/store credits 14-28 from day of delivery, providing the conditions below are met. You must call for a return authorization before returning any item.
• All shortages or damage must be reported within 3 business days and must save all original packaging and boxes.
• To enjoy the most efficient use of this item, carefully read the enclosed intructions, service information and warranty.
• All used equipment has a 90 day parts & labor warranty unless otherwise noted. Consigments sold on as is basis.
To return or exchange an item:
Contact our customer service department for a return authorization (RA) number. Customer service is available Monday-Friday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm E.S.T. Call us at 631-264-1902 or 631-264-4160.
Circle the items to be returned on the original sales receipt. Check the appropriate box on the back of the sales receipt under return policies.
Put the original manufacturer's carton and sales receipt inside a shipping carton secure enough to protect the item from damage. You may use the original Berger Bros. packaging for this purpose. Note that you will be responsible for any damage to the item during return shipping, so be sure the carton is packed well. Liberal amounts of bubble wrap and peanuts will help in this, or take the carton to a professional shipping service if necessary. NOTE: Please do not place stickers, write or otherwise deface the original manufacturer's carton. Also note, if you use a shipping service that includes the packing of the item by the shipper themselves, you may be charged up to three times the normal shipping rate
Record your RA number and person who gave you the RA number, and clearly mark this on outer carton label.

NOTE: It is in your best interest to insure all packages returned to Berger Bros. We are not responsible for the cost damage, or loss of any returns. Packages will not be accepted unless the above steps have been followed. As the customer, you are responsible to properly package, insure and obtain a shippers receipt for your records. Any returns shipped COD will be refused.
For exchanges, credits or refunds without a 15% restocking fee:
Items must be returned unused, the original parts, undamaged and:
• Accompanied by the original sales recipt or a photocopy. (This is your proof of purchase.)
• In the original carton, complete with all packaging material, accessories, manufacturer's instructions and warranty card (not filled out) if any. The original carton must not be defaced in any manner, including writing on boxes.
The following items will incur a 15% restocking fee:
• If the above conditions are not met, there will be a 15% restocking fee, if we choose to accept return.
• Factory sealed cartons that are opened and returned
• Digital cameras and camcorders if set up, used, software is opened or if it has more than 100 shutter activations.
• Telescopes and spotting scopes are refundable ONLY if the seals are intact. When the seals are broken or tampered with, there will be a restocking fee of 15% of the purchased price of the telescope or spotting scope.
Items not eligible for returns or exchanges:
• There are no refunds or exchanges on used or demo equipment, photo and video batteries, film, paper, chemicals, video tape, bulbs, software, televisons or underwater equipment, camera chargers, inks, digital memory cards, CD's, DVD's, educational tapes & books once opened, printers once ink is installed.
• Gift certificates and store credits are not refundable for cash, are non-transferable, will not be replaced if lost or stolen and expire 1 year from date issued.
• Special orders are not refundable or returnable. Deposits left on special orders are non-refundable an non-transferable. Deposits or layaways left on account over 30 days are non-refundable, non-transferable.
• Deposits on layaways are non-refundable after 30 days. Lay-away plan available up to 60 days. Lay-away merchandise must be picked up within 1 year or all deposits and payments will be forfeited.
Berger Bros. is not responsible for defective manufacturers' merchandise or freight charges for returning the defective equipment back to Berger Bros.
Shipping & handling are non-refundable. If your order originally went out as a free freight order and you return the item for a refund, our original cost to ship it to you will be deducted from the refund.
If for any reason your shipment is not accepted by you or not delivered, you will be responsible for the original shipping cost plus the cost of shipping back to Berger Bros.
